When industry-leading stars such as GE, Toyota, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters and investment firms such as Goldman Sachs are making multi-billion dollar investments in solar energy, sustainable design, and social entrepreneurship, the message is clear: we are entering a new era of creative capitalism where sustainable value creation is powerfully emerging as the business opportunity of the 21st century.
Through state-of-the-art research, management education, and applied sustainability, the focus of the B.A.W.B center is to advance extraordinary business and society innovation in the areas of sustainable development and social entrepreneurship. With signature strengths in the arenas of whole system design thinking, large group strategic planning (e.g. Appreciative Inquiry Summit), and the interdisciplinary sustainable value framework, the faculty and students at the center team up with executives, entrepreneurs, and thought-leaders who believe that creating a better world is a profitable venture.
At BAWB we are uniquely positioned to provide solutions to the how through such distinctive methods as:
- Strength-based solution-oriented approaches to change
- Whole-system, high-engagement processes that successfully understand and solve complex multi-sector issues, such as climate change or sustainable agriculture;
- Sustainable Value research and practice framework, which fully integrates sustainability and social entrepreneurship into industry supply chains to identify new business opportunity. |
"I would like to commend you for your innovative methodology of "appreciative inquiry" and to thank you for introducing it to the United Nations. Without this, it would have been very difficult, perhaps even impossible, to constructively engage so many leaders of business, civil society, and government."
