BAWB PARTNERSHIP WITH THE UN GLOBAL COMPACT: CHANGING THE RULES OF THE GAME

Since 2004, BAWB has been honored to support the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), the world’s largest global corporate citizenship network with over 4,000 businesses, NGOs, universities, and governmental organizations as members, as well as 43 local Networks in 87 countries around the world. Built around a framework of ten principles on human rights, ecology, labor and anti-corruption, the network magnifies and catalyses break-through learning around creation of mutual benefit for business and society.

Through this partnership, BAWB:


Co-designed and facilitated the first UNGC Leaders Summit of 2004, then the largest meeting of business executives ever held at the United Nations. Convened by the Secretary General Kofi Annan, the Summit's unique dialogue-rich format catalyzed a number of game-changing initiatives.

Co-convened together with the UNGC and the Academy of Management the 2006 Global Forum, titled “Business as an Agent of World Benefit: Management Knowledge Leading Positive Change,” a unique action-oriented meeting of business practitioners and business academia, aiming at re-envisioning the role and aspirations of the field of management.
